Meditative abstraction is the main characterization of Leo Leo-Vardanyan’s art. The space of Dalan gallery where on 3th of April took place the opening of the painter’s exhibition named “Samadhi” was full of aura of meditation and harmony. Art is a meditation; the creative state of human’s mind. Meditation itself is a pure abstraction; however it does not imply the denial of forms but the perfect perception of them and the exclusion of all unimportant forms of the objects under observation. Abstract art does the same thing though it applies to the forms of outer world; it aspires not to copy the nature and takes out to the higher reality by reduction of all fortuitous forms, at the same time the visible form is turned to the meaning of a symbol. The same condition could be reached through the meditation. The word “Samadhi” in the glossary has a following meaning; the peak of a meditation, the state of a divine consciousness, the spiritual state of consciousness, the state of a deep trance, the overall and ultimate exemption from the chains of karma… Maybe these phrases are not common in art, however the abstract art does the same with the forms indeed; the overall and ultimate exemption from the forms. Leo Leo-Vardanyan’s art immerses the viewer into the original meditation area where the repeating uniform rhythm and the harmony of colors lead to the calmness and exemption. The lovers of art will have an opportunity to appear to “Samadhi” until 20th of April.
