The museum-institute of Komitas is located on Arshakunyats 28. Visiting this museum you will see that even not entering the building you feel the master’s majesty. The idea of the architect Artur Meschian was to build the entrance from the second floor so you can escape from the world and enter into the temple of light. The halls are so impressive… the voice and the soul of Komitas are in the air…
On January 29, 2016 the museum celebrated its first anniversary. The exhibition of an American photographer Catherine Cook “Memory Tree” was opened. Passing through different countries the photographer got acquainted with the history of the Armenian Genocide and depicted the silence that remained after the Armenians. You can visit this interesting exhibition till the 29th of April with tickets.
Then the art lovers moved to the hall…and he went up on the stage…Hayk Melikian…one name…one person…who enchanted people…filled the air with the dancing notes…Komitas was in him…he took the soul of Komitas and gave to the listeners…gave in a fragile way… then gave with so strong soul as the Armenian roots are…
Being An Honored Artist of Republic of Armenia Hayk Melikian is one of the leading musicians of our times who has his own unique place in the World Piano Arts. He is a virtuoso performer…the listeners were breathing the music like the air…were watching holding their breath…and he was enjoying…living the notes…His image was unforgettable…in one word he is a pride…We are thankful that you exist…our Hayk Melikian…
Thanks to the organizers, to the administration of the museum for organizing this kind of beautiful events and what is important making art accessible (the events were free of charge). We wish endless success to already one-year old museum…it’s one of the most important museums for Armenia…
